Peanut Chutney recipe is very easy to make. It tastes great with Idlis (steamed South Indian rice cakes) and Dosas (crispy savory South Indian rice pancakes). It tastes rich due to roasted peanuts in it.

Try this easy peasy peanut chutney and fall in love with the chutney.

1 cup – Peanuts

¼ cup – fresh coconut

3-4 red chillies (adjust as per chilli variety and heat)

2-3 small garlic pods

½ tspn oil

Salt to taste

For seasoning:-

1 tspn oil

¼ tsp mustard seeds

1/4 tspn split urad dal

1 sprig curry leaves

Method of preparation:-

Heat a kadai. Dry roast peanuts on hot kadai until they turn brown. Remove the nuts from heat and allow them to cool.

Remove the skin from the peanuts. This is very important step, chutney will taste bitter and bad if skin is left on.

In the same kadai, add oil and roast red chilli and garlic for 1-2 mins.

In a mixer, blend to-gether peanuts, coconut, red chilli, garlic and salt and little water into a smooth paste. Do not make chutney very runny, add  water little by little while grinding.

Heat oil mentioned  in seasoning and add the seasoning items

Remove from kadai and mix it with the chutney.

Serve it with hot onion dosa(or idli or pongal)
