A few weeks back I won the first prize for the KitchenAid India ‪#‎NavratriChallenge‬ @ The Hub on Archana’s Kitchen. The win itself was sure a surprise, considering the entries from some amazing food bloggers. To be honest I didn’t expect that I would win, but it was a wonderful surprise, and what was shocking is that my recipe Kuttu ke atte ki puri won the first prize! A diamond blender from KitchenAid India. Can you believe that! I couldn’t for a long time. I simply Love being a part of one of the most exciting Indian blogs “Archana’s Kitchen”. And Archana herself is one of the most friendly person. She encourages and pushes me to keep trying out new things. What a awesome person she is! Archana – I’m so privileged to be a part of your kitchen <3

Last week we went off on a vacation for a week. It was a wonderful relaxing vacation. We stayed at a resort which was just on the beach. We had a wonderful company too with us, and kids and us had a awesome time togather. More about the trip with photos in my next post! Till then here’s a glimpse of what the place looked like! :D

After we returned back home, there was a surprise waiting for me. My KicthenAid diamond blender had arrived. The moment I saw the blender I instantly had the itch to try it out. A quick look into the pantry, I had dates which I wanted to use for a long time. The instant I saw dates I decided that moment itself to make dates smoothie. A threw in some dates, bananas, milk and ice cubes into the blender, whizzed them all. Dates are normally hard to blend and with my past experience, I would always pass the smoothie through a filter to get rid of the small bits of dates that could not blend, as my family dont like it. But KitchenAid Diamond blender is magical. It has a cute like panel with options to blend different ingredients, like you can blend a hot soup while it’s till hot, blend ice cubes! :O and whip option for whipping the cream and many more. In just 3 minutes my dates turned into a smooth smoothie, the way smoothie has to be!

Here’s how I made my dates banana chocolate smoothie in KitchenAid diamond blender

1 cup dates(deseeded)
2 small ripe bananas
1 1/2 cup chilled milk
1/2 cup ice cubes
3 tablespoon chocolate syrup or melted chocolate

For garnish
Chocolate vermicelli
Whipped cream or ice cream(I did not use it)
Banana slices

1. In a very good blender like KitchenAid Diamond blender, blend all the ingredients until smooth.

2. Pour into serving glasses, garnish with ice cream or whipped cream(i did not use them), sprinkle some chocolate vermicelli or chocolate shavings. Place a slice of banana on the side of the glass and serve immediately!

Serve these for breakfast. This smoothie would make a wonderful dessert option too!
